Local Google Places Citations – Australian

Posted on by in SEO

Google Places is the new primary goal for SEO experts. There are a lot of things you can do to increase your chances of being listed high, such as making sure you claim your listing in the first place. However there is one thing that will make all the difference, and that is making sure you have your address and telephone number listed in as many places as possible. This increases the number of local citations you have for your address, and increases the authority for your business.

However there are some citations that matter more than others. First it depends heavily on your industry. Hotels get a different set of Authority listings to Plumbers. Second the rating you might get on that website matters too. If you listing on other websites doesn’t have any ratings, then it is unlikely that the listing will be taken seriously.

Australian Local Citations

So where does Google take its citations from for Australian website listings? Well here is a list, as best we can find, of the ones we know are used, listed by industry;

If you know of any that are used as a citation, and can give us a query that shows it is being used, then we will add it to the list!

    Hi Robert,

    This is quite a useful list. I thought I might suggest adding http://www.StartLocal.com.au into the list of local citations as it has over 1.5 million monthly visits and has won a few hitwise awards.

    Cheers!
